The LORD can give you much more than that

Amaziah asked the man of God, “But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite troops?” The man of God replied, “The LORD can give you much more than that.” – 2 Chronicles 25:9

To give you a background, Amaziah is the King of Judah during his time. He mustered the men, twenty years old or more, to prepare them for military service. He also hired a hundred thousand fighting men from Israel for a hundred talents of silver. But a man of God came to him and said that the troops from Israel must not march with them, for the LORD is not with Israel. Even they go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow them before their enemy. Amaziah was concerned in the talents he paid for these Israelite troops at first, but he still followed what the LORD had said through the man of God and dismissed the Israelite troops and sent them home. (I encourage you to read the bible for more details)

There are times we are more concern on the things we invested or received. It can be the material things that we have or even the blessings that we received that it may come to the point that we hold on these more than God. When God tells us to let go of these things, we may regret on losing these, or even bargain with God not to surrender these things.

But God has a best plan for us and much more blessings awaiting for us. He just want us to rely on Him, listen to Him and let our lives directed by Him. God may also teaching us not to rely on the blessings/things that we received, that we tend to forget the source of these blessings. More importantly is we remain trusting in Him, that whatever the call He has for each one of us, whatever the direction He set for us, we will listen and follow Him and not to regret the things that we need to let go for following Him.
