Consistency

Gallup Definition:

People exceptionally talented in the Consistency theme are keenly aware of the need to treat people the same. They try to treat everyone with equality by setting up clear rules and adhering to them.

"I am more interested in group needs than individual wants."

"I will reduce variance and increase uniformity."

"I bring rules and policies that promote cultural predictability."

"I need standard operating procedures."

"I love repeating things in the exact same way."

"I hate unnecessary customization."

"I might have the tendency to make rules trump relationships and results."

Action Items:

If you have Consistency as your dominant talent, you may consider these action items:

  • Make a list of consistent rules by which you can live.

  • Seek opportunities or roles in which you can be a force for leveling the playing field.

  • Seek for opportunities to help your team develop policies and procedures to maintain their integrity while accomplishing their goals and desired outcomes.

  • Partner with someone with strong Maximizer or Individualization theme. This person can remind you when it is appropriate to accommodate individual differences.
